  Title: Downfall of the

The team I belong to fell victom to over building and not being able to keep up with the demands of such a huge empire of planets. So very few of the sectors had good protection. I had one SG Hole, well defended, that has not Fallen but the door was taken so I stripped the planets bare.

I have switched my strategy..... No more SD build up and just enough SD to keep the sheep out. None of the planets will be loaded with cash and I will have one Base Planet that has very high Cloak Levels. My new Base Planet (at this point in time) has 419 Level cloak and I have a back up Base Planet with 405 level Cloak.

Time will tell if this is a Viable Strategey or not, but my thinking is: with the cloak levels so high, the ship with high enough scan levels to break the cloak, and to Nova the Planet would be very expensive to the attacker. And in the end they would most likely have nothing to show for their efforts.

Nov 15, 2006 - 7:36pm] Tarnus Harten: Nothing but to put a hurt on you.  The cost for those levels is pretty high.  And a good player only needs to see it once.  I know if I come into a sector where I see sector ownership I know its cloaked.  Refresh enough times, and  it will show.  Guess what.... I have your planet number now.  Copy the link.  Go grab my nova ship paste the link, BOOM baby BOOM.   Good bye expensive planet.  Course I did say a "GOOD" player   Note: If your SG is big and deep enough, they may never find it.  With the ability to link you can build an SG with interlooping sectors that unless some one hand maps it out, they may never find you.

Just something to think about

[Nov 15, 2006 - 8:03pm] Lucky Starr: No SD.... No Sector Ownership.... or so it would seem...I think I am Safe.... And about the Link and then coping it I did not know you could do that..... Would that be concidered an exploit?

There is no sector ownership if you have no SD I am sure of this
[Nov 15, 2006 - 10:55pm] Tarnus Harten: To some it might be, but in actuality, there is no way to prevent a link from showing up.  There are probably ways to take that ability away.  Not sure how easily though.

Note:  There are many things that you can use links in the game for.  Many people take advantage of them.  Some of them we have been able to prevent.  Some of them we can't.  ALthough anything that is a serious exploit we try to take away from players.
[Nov 16, 2006 - 9:14am] Lucky Starr: Ok... I have been found on my super-cloaked planet scaned and bombed.... point has been made.... DARN!!!!
====================================
Back to my old strategy.... I need to rebuild my cash flow after the siege... I build deep SG holes that only have One sector with developed Planets. I give myself 2 days to develope the sector Then I move on to the next newly built SG and Do so again.... I need to get back to Ship Upgrade Mode and have the cash flow to do so.... I would like to lose my evil status, but have not done so as of yet. But given My evil status, as soon as someone attacks me they seem to instantly turn Good in rank.
